‘Saturday Night Live’ Season 50 Cast Revealed: See Who’s Joining NEW YORK – Three new comedians will join the cast of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” this fall. Up-and-coming comedians Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline will join as featured players, the network announced on Tuesday. The new season of “SNL” is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 28. Chloe Troast, who joined “SNL” last year, announced she won’t be returning to the show in an Instagram post. “Unfortunately I was not asked back to ‘SNL’ this season,” the 27-year-old wrote. “I wish I was going back to be with all the amazing friends I made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.” Padilla, like other “SNL” alum, including Will Ferrell and Maya Rudolph, previously performed at the Groundlings, a Los Angeles improv and sketch comedy theater. She also has appeared on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and in the NBC revival of “Night Court.” Wakim, a Lebanese-American comedian, made his late-night comedy debut in 2022 when he performed on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” That year, he was named the New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Wickline has nearly a million followers on TikTok and performs on a live comedy show on the social media platform called “Stapleview.” With these new additions, after two years as featured players, Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker are being promoted to the main cast. Punkie Johnson, who was hired in 2020, and Cleveland-native Molly Kearney, who joined in 2022 as the show’s first non-binary cast member, are also exiting the show.
